Prior to Accel, Sterling worked at Goldman Sachs in the technology, media, and telecommunications investment banking group. In this role, he worked on M&A and equity financings for technology companies across various sub-verticals, including Credit Karma, DoorDash, GitLab, and Uber.

Sterling is a San Francisco native and graduated from Washington and Lee University, where he played on the Men's Varsity Soccer team.
