About Barath
Barath joined in 2012 and focuses on early-stage startups across the AI, consumer, enterprise, and fintech spaces. He is actively involved in the firm's Atoms program for pre-seed startups in India and SEA. Prior to joining Accel, Barath was a senior consultant at Frost & Sullivan UK, where he covered the healthcare and life sciences domains. He graduated from BITS, Pilani, and Carnegie Mellon University.

What’s your go-to productivity hack?
Walking is a fantastic hack to achieve multiple things: it frees up the mind to learn (either audiobooks or podcasts) and is a great way to stay fit. I try to do 5 km of active walking every day which helps me learn new things on a daily basis.
What was your first job?
My first job was as an entrepreneur - I assembled and sold PCs in the late 90s when branded computers were hard to find in India. As a student this was a great way to earn money to save up for college.
What's something people are surprised to learn about you?
I've traveled to over 50 countries across 6 continents. These are some of the best learning experiences and have shaped my views strongly. I continue to enjoy traveling as a family now.
