Julia Klepner

Julia joins Accel as Chief Information Security Officer. Prior to Accel, Julia served as Head of Security at Thrive Capital and as a Security Advisor to the firm. Julia began her career at Goldman Sachs and held various security roles at high-growth technology companies. Julia is from New York and graduated with a BA and MA from Stanford University in Psychology.

What was your first job?

I worked in the memory care unit of a senior living facility and led a weekly program called ‘Keeping Up with the Grandchildren.’ The program introduced residents to modern technology platforms (like video chat) and related slang so they could stay connected to younger generations and engaged with their families from afar.

What's your all-time favorite movie, TV show, or book?

The West Wing. Aaron Sorkin is a brilliant writer (and Josh and Donna are an all-time duo!).

What’s the most impactful piece of advice you’ve received?

"Don't let go of the rope."
