About Jakob
Jakob joined in 2024 and focuses on AI, enterprise software, and fintech businesses. Prior to Accel, he worked at HV Capital, focusing on growth-stage venture investments across Europe. Before that, he was an investor at Goldman Sachs Private Equity, and sold a small food-tech startup. Jakob grew up in Austria and graduated from WU Vienna and the University of St. Gallen.

What most inspires you and why?
Founders who are not only the best in their fields but also deeply passionate about creating something from scratch and bending the universe in their favor. Supporting such visionary teams motivates me to come to work every day and go the extra mile.
Most impactful advice?
"You have to dare to try." Growing up, I played competitive basketball, and one of my early coaches instilled this mantra in me during long practice days. Although my dream of playing in the NBA didn't materialize, I have learned that there is no easy path to significant success. Starting and, importantly, following through are the keys.
What was your first job?
I worked as a cashier at my local fast-food restaurant in Austria. As a side benefit, I gained inside knowledge on whether the ice cream machines really are broken half of the time.
