Vinod joined in 2011 as General Counsel and leads the legal and compliance team in India in their advisory work across investments, divestments, and portfolio management. Prior to Accel, he worked at ICICI Venture, an Indian PE/VC firm, and at Dr. Kainth & Associates, a corporate law firm. He graduated from Kerala University and Bangalore University.

What's the most impactful piece of advice you received?
When I was 4 or 5, my mother told me, 'Whatever you do, strive to be the best. Whether you're a carpenter or a lawyer, aim for excellence.' Her words have guided my approach to work ever since.
What was your first job?
I started as an associate at a boutique law firm in Bangalore in 1996, specializing in corporate law and forex regulations during India’s early liberalization. With only four firms in this space, I was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time, quickly gaining expertise in a dynamic field.
