What’s the most impactful piece of advice you’ve received?
Listen more than you speak. The advice was given to me in the context of negotiation training but I think it's helpful more generally in life. It's helped improve my ability to understand different perspectives, build stronger relationships, and make more thoughtful decisions.
If you could master any skill instantly?
For me, it would definitely be to pick up foreign languages instantly, particularly as I enjoy travelling and meeting new people. Whilst I make an effort to try to learn the linguistic basics for countries I visit, I'd love to be able to instantly communicate well in each place, making it easier to connect and become immersed in the culture.
What’s your all-time favourite movie, TV show, or book?
My favourite book is The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. It is a retelling of classical Greek mythology, focusing on the relationship between Achilles and Patroclus from The Iliad. It's beautifully written and is a novel exploration of the themes of love, loyalty, and heroism in ancient Greece.
