Rishi joined in 2022 and leads the firm's marketing efforts in India. Prior to Accel, he was a content leader at Disney Star India. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles in consumer tech (Nestaway, Babajob), CPG (PepsiCo), and as an entrepreneur in media and entertainment. He grew up in India and graduated from Pune University and ISB Hyderabad.

What’s the most impactful piece of advice you’ve received?
A variation of the Chetwood Credo inscribed at the Indian Military Academy -
"The safety, honour, and welfare of your country come first, always and every time. The honour, welfare, and comfort of the men you command come next. Your own ease, comfort, and safety come last, always and every time."
Even in a work context, it translates well - your organization/ecosystem > your team > you. I find this to be a great framework for making decisions. My father, who served in the Indian Army, introduced me to this concept.
What's something people are surprised to learn about you?
Outside of marketing and business roles, I have been an actor and a director and have created a few OTT shows :)
What is your all-time favourite movie, TV show, OR book?
The Godfather film and book are perfect stories rendered perfectly on screen. Additionally, the odds against which they made the film make it doubly inspirational, especially due to the tenacity of all the key people who made it.
