Prayank joined in 2011 and focuses on cybersecurity, developer tools, marketplaces, and SaaS investments. Prior to Accel, he worked at Adobe and Standard Chartered Bank, holding roles in engineering, product marketing, pre-sales, and product management. He’s from Ghaziabad and graduated from IIT Delhi and the Indian School of Business.

What's something people are surprised to learn about you?
I love to code. Though my days are packed with meeting founders, I love to build products that are useful to me and my team. I'm not a software architect by any stretch of the imagination, but I have my Jupyter notebooks out, and am building MVPs with Django / Supabase / Llama, etc. I haven't figured out Shadcn or Bootstrap or React yet - frontend is not my suite.
If you could master any skill instantly?
Prioritization is the skill that I would love to master. There are a billion things I would love to do, but only a few minutes in the day. Everything seems important and urgent to me, but over the years, I have learned more to get leverage from my team, asking the right questions is more important than showing how it's done, and doing less is more. I'm still figuring it out.
What is your favourite invention or innovation?
I'm still waiting for someone to create the invention I know the world needs, and I'm willing to pay for - clothes that burn calories when you wear them. Imagine attire that makes you look good and makes you feel good - both.
