What's something people are surprised to learn about you?
Despite starting my career in engineering, I actually didn’t study computer science in college. Instead, I did a program called ‘Social Studies,’ which is Harvard-speak for politics, philosophy, and economics… but to most people just sounds like sixth grade history class. I loved the program dearly, and told myself the name would only stick around in 2 places: first, on my diploma (I had a field day trying to explain it to my Taiwanese relatives during graduation), and second, on bios like this.
What’s your go-to productivity hack?
A delicious, “treat yourself” dinner and a good night’s sleep.
What’s the most impactful piece of advice you’ve received?
Listen first & speak second. It comes from the time I’ve spent as a jazz pianist, learning & studying with world-class musicians. Jazz is a conversational idiom -- turns out any amount of talent, craft, or practice fizzles away if you aren’t listening to what others are playing.
