Joe joined in 2022 as Associate General Counsel, providing guidance on investments, exits, and fund structuring, while serving as counsel to the firm globally. Prior to Accel, he worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, representing emerging companies and their investors, and at Ropes & Gray, where he advised on capital markets transactions and M&A. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and studied at Brown University and Harvard Law School.

What’s your favorite invention or innovation?
Google Maps. I seriously don't know how people ever lived without it. On our honeymoon, my wife and I were hiking in the Alps and nearly got lost. An offline copy of the area in Google Maps got us back on track.
What would you do with an hour of unexpected free time?
I'd love to spend an hour sitting in my garden with my tomatoes, strawberries, and avocado trees. It's fascinating to watch how little and how much is changing at the same time. And when I'm lucky, there is something tasty to snack on!
If you could have any superpower?
Time travel. I listen to a lot of history podcasts, and it would be so much fun to go back in time and find the reality behind so many historical mysteries.
