Hilary Mason joined Accel in 2013 and serves as Accel’s Data Scientist in Residence.
Hilary advises Accel’s portfolio companies and assists with evaluating new technologies and investment opportunities. Hilary is also the founder of Fast Forward Labs, which is a new kind of research company that helps recognize and develop new product and business opportunities through emerging technologies.
Prior to Accel, Hilary served as chief data scientist for Bitly. She is deeply rooted in the New York technology scene and has been an active member of Mayor Bloomberg’s Technology and Innovation Advisory Council since 2011. Previously, she co-founded HackNY, a non-profit dedicated to creating a path for talented students to join New York’s creative technical community through events and education. She has also served as a mentor to Betaspring, the Providence Rhode Island-based startup accelerator and TechStars New York.
Hilary is from New York and earned her B.A. in Computer Science from Grinnell College.
