The full speaker lineup for our Fintech Summit EMEA
With our Fintech Summit EMEA kicking off on Wednesday, we’re delighted to unveil the full list of speakers taking to the stage (below). This exceptional group of fintech founders, operators and global banking leaders will be discussing a wide range of topics throughout the day, including:
- Hyperscaling out of Europe: While there’s no shortage of new fintech startups and talent emerging across the region, the leap from fintech startup to successful scale-up is a large one and from scale-up to hyperscaler it’s larger still. In fact, it’s something only a handful of European-founded fintechs have achieved. Some of the companies that have made it share their insights and tips on how it can be done
- Creating SME champions in Europe: SMEs are the backbone of the European economy, making up more than 99% of businesses and employing around 85M people. However, they’re often overlooked by traditional banks and financial institutions due to the complexity of serving such a diverse client base. A number of fintechs that are transforming the financial landscape, with offerings catering specifically to SMEs’ needs, will discuss how they approach the market, where they’re seeing the great demand, how SMEs can leverage AI and that the future holds
- Getting under the hood of AI - global banks’ perspectives: Leaders driving AI initiatives at global banks discuss how they’ve incorporated AI into their operations over the years and any learnings that have informed their approach to the hot topic of GenAI. In addition, they’ll cover where they are in the GenAI journey and how they approach partnering with fintechs, as well as the challenges associated with data access, protection and more
- Embedded finance and the buy or build question: Embedded finance can turbocharge businesses, but how should fintech and non fintechs get started? This panel will discuss the pros and cons of building a bespoke solution vs buying a ready-made offering, how different companies have approached it, their advice for entrepreneurs looking at embedded finance today and what the next layer of financial products and services that are embedded into more software and consumer companies will be
- Powering the future of payments: Payments make the world go round, so it’s perhaps unsurprising that, according to KPMG, payments continued to show its resilience in H1 2024 as the sector attracted the largest share of fintech funding globally ($21.4B). While payments revenues grew 11% in 2022, hitting more than $2.2T, huge innovation and opportunity still lies ahead. Disruption across areas such as open banking, real-time payments, cross-border payments, BNPL, digital wallets, super apps and embedded payments are revolutionizing the way both consumers and merchants transact and pay. This panel will discuss what the future holds and the driving forces that are shaping it
- The repeat fintech founder journey: Over the last decade, Europe has been rapidly growing its presence on the global fintech stage and, even in the face of difficult macroeconomic conditions, the ambition of the region’s fintech founders remains undiminished. According to Dealroom, 87% of the 717 European fintech deals in 2024 to date have taken place at the pre-seed, seed or A stages, highlighting the fact that there’s a new generation of innovative startups continuing to emerge. As the fintech ecosystem has evolved and matured, these startups are also being founded by serial fintech entrepreneurs and teams who have a wealth of product, engineering and management experience, and have been on the startup journey before. Serial fintech entrepreneurs will share their learning and advice for the next wave of founders.
Following the event, we’ll be sharing some of the key insights from these panels and many more.
